Custom Cakes and Cookies

We recommend inquiring about your custom order between 1-4 months before your event. If your event falls during the summer months, your inquiry may be competing with booked weddings, so if you have the advanced time, seize it to ensure we have availability. On a case by case basis, we may be able to accommodate an order request within 2 weeks of your event, but we cannot promise or encourage that due to how far out we may book up.

Design elements complicate the overall price of each project, as many custom orders include carved cakes, multiple colors of fondant, and intricate design themes requiring artist’s expertise (such as sugar flowers or hand-painting, etc.). It is impossible to give a ballpark cost idea without many factors, including but not limited to, size, complexity, flavor, labor and skills required. We will work with you to marry your design hopes with a realistic cost assumption once it reaches beyond the minimum threshold.

During the months of November-April, the minimum custom order is $400. During the months of May-October, the minimum custom order is $600. Separately, Sugar Cookies have a minimum order of 12 cookies for $96, and each additional cookie is $8. Price may increase based on intricacy of work desired.

The cost for a boxed Tasting Flight of 6 pre-set flavors is $60. Please check to see if we have any on hand.

We do happily design custom cakes that incorporate fresh flowers. Cake flowers can be pricy, and we want to consider what kinds of chemicals may be used for preservation. So we’ll discuss the ins and outs with you. Additionally, sourcing and arranging flowers on your cake will be factored into the labor of your design.

PLEASE NOTE: SOME FLORA IS POISONOUS AND SHOULD NOT GO IN OR ON A CAKE. (Despite what may inspire you on Pinterest.)

The most commonly requested “no-no” botanicals : eucalyptus, baby’s breath, and hydrangea.

Check out this great list by ProFlowers.com for an even better understanding of what to avoid. Your health is way more important than a cake design. HOWEVER, all is not lost. I’m happy to discuss sugar flowers or wafer paper flowers to incorporate in your aesthetic. Since they are hand-made commissions, they are always in season, in any color you desire, and last for years.

We take things a step further, since we are a boutique bakery specializing in allergen concerned baked goods, to ensure you have the most straightforward information regarding how our bakery works. Do not hesitate to reach out and grill us on our practices in relation to your food allergy. We get it. We have to do it when we are ordering food for our own daughter at other establishments. We take ZERO offense to your questions and happily share what is needed to put your mind at ease (or help you know our bakery may not be safe for your situation, i.e. nut use).

Yes! However, delivery is only available on a case by case basis, dependent on our work load that week. Clients should assume pick up, and inquire about delivery as an option. Delivery within the Auburn city limits is $35. For all other areas, the delivery fee base price is $75, and anything beyond a 25 mile radius of our bakery in Auburn will additionally be billed at $3/mi, one way, to the destination.

For sugar cookies, full payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. For all other custom orders, 50% of the balance will be due upon receipt of the invoice, and the remaining 50% will be due 2 weeks prior to your event. (Client may request to make payment in full upon receipt.) Payment may be made by cash or check, or also easily paid by card through the online invoice. A 1.5% payment processing fee will be incurred for all payments made by card.

Due to the nature of our business, when you place an order, you hold a space in our baking schedule, and we construct our labor and ingredients to suit. As a small batch boutique bakery, we cannot accommodate huge volume output. This is due, in part, to logistics, and partly because our custom work takes valuable time and we want to offer you our highest standards and expertise. For this, we sadly must refuse orders when we reach capacity. If you cancel an established order within 7 days of completion, we most likely cannot recoup that “order spot” and have also very likely begun work on your order. We cannot offer you a refund. Thank you for understanding. For orders cancelled beyond 7 days, we will be happy to refund, minus any retaining fees and credit card fees that we incurred taking the original order.
